Political Message of the Kurdistan Future Movement Regarding Political Unilateralism
And the Marginalization of Public Opinion
The Communities of the People of Kurdistan
Political Parties and Decision-Making Centers
The history of our people's struggle in Eastern Kurdistan is a history of widespread and collective sacrifice, not the property of a specific side. We, in the Kurdistan Future Movement,
while emphasizing national unity, strongly criticize the mode of operation followed by the seven Kurdish parties (Democratic, Komala branches, PJAK, and PAK).
1. The End of the Era of Monopoly
The political destiny of the Kurdish people in Eastern Kurdistan cannot be confined solely to the political offices of a few parties. Making decisions on national issues without referring to public opinion, civil society, and new political forces,
is a historical mistake and calls the legitimacy of those decisions into question. No party has the right to present itself as the sole representative of a nation that possesses political and intellectual diversity.
2. Rejection of "Closed-Door" Decisions
We, as the Kurdistan Future Movement, are strongly against any form of closed-door meetings and agreements where decisions about the future of Eastern Kurdistan are made without consulting and involving other influential parties. This unilateralism only serves the enemies of the Kurds and leads to the creation of rifts between political parties and the public.
3. The Necessity of a Comprehensive National Discourse:
The fragmentation seen in the political discourse of these seven parties and the divisions they have created among themselves have caused great harm to the Kurdish cause. We will not allow any party to deal with the destiny of our people arbitrarily.
We demand that a "unified national discourse" be formulated in which all colors and voices participate, not just those parties that have been revolving within a closed circle for years.
4. Our Message to the Parties:
The struggle for the liberation of the homeland cannot be achieved through unilateralism and the marginalization of other forces. The Kurdistan Future Movement, as an active force with a vision, does not accept this kind of undemocratic dealing and will confront, by all civil and political means, any attempt that seeks to diminish the will of the people and new forces.
Kurdistan belongs to everyone, and decision-making about its future is solely the right of the people and a national consensus, not a few specific parties.
